Committee Charge
The Career Education Committee (CEC) at CRC supports courses and programs that improve the skills and knowledge necessary for employment, career advancement, or a field of work. A career education program of study is a single or series of courses that combine academic knowledge with technical and occupational training, creating a clear path for students to pursue their desired careers.
The CRC CEC guides Career Education programs. This includes reviewing state-wide (Strong Workforce) and federal (Perkins) funding in accordance with regulations, data resources, professional development needs, and programmatic support. The goal is to enhance and improve the outcomes of the CRC Career Education programs.
Objective 1
Expand career-based education opportunities to all learners, especially those who have been historically marginalized, to promote equity and ensure that everyone has access to the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workforce.
- Objective 1a: Support departmental efforts to create opportunities for CRC students to earn industry-recognized, industry-valued certificates/credentials.
- Objective 1b: Support CRC Career Education Programs to meet the growing demand in high-wage industry.
Objective 2
Assist in identifying and prioritizing reallocated funds for career education programs (such as Strong Workforce and Perkins)
Objective 3
Assist in evaluating and reporting of funding allocations and its impact on student outcomes.
Committee Membership
- Career Education Department Chairs or Designee (ACDT, AFNR, HHS, ECE, BUS, ACCT, CIS, Commercial Music)
(One faculty serves as Tri-Chair) - AVPI, EWD (Tri-Chair)
- Deans of CE Programs
- Classified Senate Appointee (Tri-Chair)
- Classified CE instructional assistants or lab technicians
- EWD Administrative Assistant
