The Los Rios Police Department (LRPD) employs sworn police officers who are California POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training) certified and are responsible for protecting life and property on district-owned campuses. The Los Rios Community College District has excellent working relationships with emergency and law enforcement agencies in our communities.

LRPD has communication dispatchers on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (916) 558-2221, TTY (916) 650-2972.

This CRC group seeks to provide more proactive support to students who have been identified as potentially at risk. They review student issues that warrant an action plan but are not disciplinary in nature.
Outdoor emergency telephones are strategically located throughout the campuses. These phones are marked and easily identified by a blue light. When accessed, these emergency telephones will automatically connect the caller to the Los Rios Police Communications Center. The locations of blue emergency phones are noted on campus maps.
A central location from which the college can provide strategic interdepartmental coordination and executive decision making in support of emergency response, and ensuring the continuity of operation of the college.

Safe Los Rios is a safety communications tool for students and employees. It has two components – a free mobile app and a desktop alert.
The Safe Los Rios mobile app is free for Android and iOS devices. Features of the app include the ability to:
- Discreetly contact and share your location with Los Rios Police in an emergency using the app's panic button.
- Request a campus safety escort from LRPD to walk you to your vehicle or other campus location.
- Send your location to a friend so they can track you in real-time as you walk across campus and arrive safely at your destination.
- Submit a non-emergency crime tip.
- Access campus safety procedures for emergencies that may occur on campus.
- Access support resources.
The Safe Los Rios app is available for download by Los Rios students and employees (guests can download it with limited functionality). Features involving real-time responses from Los Rios Police are limited to the boundaries of the campus. The app is intended for use by students and employees.
