This presentation will emphasize the importance of students getting connected through the Hawk Connections form, which links them to CRC’s network of student support programs. We will also clarify how Hawk Connections and Early Alert work together.

This workshop will begin with a brief overview of key points from the TESOL 2025 conference and then introduce my research on how students interact with ChatGPT. The focus is on emotional and cognitive differences between AI and human communication, and on how educators can support learners in developing meaningful reasoning, confidence, and emotional awareness while using AI tools.

Our students cannot help but encounter misinformation and disinformation as they navigate the world. This flex session will explore ways that faculty and students can evaluate digital information. We will discuss and reflect on how to bring media literacy skills to our classrooms. Bring your ideas and questions to this interactive flex session.

Drawing from interviews with grief survivors of the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, CRC Music Professor and composer Kurt Erickson's work "Each Moment Radiant" explores themes centering on personal narrative, memory, and creative practice as they intersect in the making of his concert work for Syracuse University.

In this workshop, we will present examples of how we practice what we preach and invite participants to engage with us in activities to practice with us. Moreover, we will discuss opportunities to actively apply this approach in classrooms, regardless of discipline.
