The Professional Standards committee will explain the sabbatical concept (Type A, B, and C sabbaticals), application process, and benefits for professional growth. This workshop will examine teaching practices with a gender lens on curriculum, assessment, student-instructor engagement, inclusion of role models, and gender stereotyping. Also included in this workshop is a discussion on recruitment strategies to increase student enrollment in non-traditional disciplines.

Beginning in the fall of 2021, I made a series of equity interventions in my classes with the intent to close my success rate gaps. In this session, I will tell a data-informed story and share how I intervened, what my students thought of my efforts, and whether there was any correlation between equity-informed instructional design and equitable student outcomes.
