By the end of the workshop, employees will gain tools to act calmly in critical situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on campus. This workshop is open to all LRCCD employees and is essential for anyone who may encounter a medical or mental health emergency in their daily work.

Backwards course design involves the intentional (re)design of courses around their student learning outcomes. Learn more about the backwards design process, learn about real CRC examples, and begin or continue your own backwards course design journey in this interactive session.

Interested in making your classroom trans-inclusive but not sure where to begin? The presenters, Dani Crain (she/they) and Jacob Traugott (they/them), will provide an overview of terminology and basic use of pronouns, share trans-inclusive practices they use in their classrooms, and the feedback they have received from students.

This presentation will emphasize the importance of students getting connected through the Hawk Connections form, which links them to CRC’s network of student support programs. We will also clarify how Hawk Connections and Early Alert work together.

Join the Conduct Office for a practical and informative workshop designed for faculty and staff. Learn about the student conduct process, how to submit effective referrals, and how we can work together to support students while addressing student concerns.

Take a break from the pre-semester scramble to breathe in and tune out. This meditative experience uses calming sound vibrations and relaxing instruments to melt away stress and bring you back to center. No meditation experience needed, just a willingness to relax.

This presentation will provide an overview of the Success Coach role, key initiatives, opportunities for collaboration, and how we can support students.

Want to apply for a sabbatical but don't know where to start? The Professional Standards committee will explain the sabbatical concept (Type A, B, and C sabbaticals), application process, and benefits for professional growth. Faculty members who have completed sabbaticals will also share their experiences and there will be time for questions and answers.

This workshop will examine teaching practices with a gender lens on curriculum, assessment, student-instructor engagement, inclusion of role models, and gender stereotyping. Also included in this workshop is a discussion on recruitment strategies to increase student enrollment in non-traditional disciplines.

The training will provide an overview of districtwide IT services offered to employees at Los Rios, including some that are new/changed for Fall 2026 and those that may be familiar (e.g., Service Central, Okta, Zoom).
