Description
Come explore practical ways to think about AI and writing in your classroom. We’ll consider how generative AI is changing student writing and what that means for the way we design writing assignments, teach the writing process, and evaluate student work.
We will explore strategies for stepping away from AI and returning to more analog approaches to writing and learning. We’ll look at ways to use handwriting, in-class writing, paper-based activities, drafting, and other low-tech practices to keep student thinking, voice, and engagement at the center of the writing process. We’ll also consider how these approaches can create opportunities for deeper reflection, more authentic writing, and a stronger connection between writing and learning.
