Flex Workshop: Purposeful Transgender Inclusion Practices in Our Classrooms

Description

There has been a historic amount of legislation about Trans identities in education this year. Interested in making your classroom trans-inclusive but not sure where to begin? The presenters, Dani Crain (she/they) and Jacob Traugott (they/them), will provide an overview of terminology and basic use of pronouns, share trans-inclusive practices they use in their classrooms, and the feedback they have received from students.

Then trans-inclusive practices for any classroom will be shared: what can be done before class starts, on the first day, and throughout the term. There will be time in the workshop to discuss with other attendees and brainstorm how you may incorporate trans-inclusive language and practices in your classes.
