More in This Series
The Student Equity Plan Committee will be hosting five online/Zoom sessions – one per metric – for participants to view the proposed strategies and provide feedback via Padlet. The five metrics are: Successful Enrollment, Completion of Transfer-level Math and English (including ESL), Persistence, Completion (Degree/Certificate), and Transfer. The feedback will inform the final Student Equity Plan that will then be vetted through the college's governance process in October and November.

Background
Towards the end of the fall 2024 term, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office announced that the 2025-2028 Student Equity Plan template is available for colleges to begin work. In mid-late spring, a Classified/Academic Senate appointed ad hoc committee was formed to support the review and updating of our Student Equity Plan for the 2025-28 cycle.
The ad hoc committee met three times in the spring, and collaborated in small workgroups organized for each metric, to draft strategies designed to address/close equity gaps for student groups experiencing disproportionate impact. The committee reconvened in August, and again at the start of September to review/discuss the proposed strategies before presenting them for community input.
The 2025-28 Student Equity Plan is due to the Chancellor's Office by November 30, 2025, and is required in order for our college to receive Student Equity and Achievement Plan (SEAP) categorical funds.
