Description
During participation in CRC's Collaborative Learning Circles in Spring 2025, we discussed equitable grading strategies. During this time, I decided to return to the basics: how to write a good multiple-choice question.
I learned there are many best practices to consider when writing multiple-choice questions. When I took these into account in my own classes, I saw improvement on the multiple-choice question portion of my exams, but, surprisingly, an even greater increase on the free response portions of the exams (fill in the blank, short answer, and essay questions).
Please join me to learn about the current best practices for writing multiple choice-questions as well as live application where we rewrite example questions from attendees.
