Description
U.P.R.O.A.R. Book Club will be a semester-long professional development experience designed for all campus community members (faculty, staff, counselors, and administrators) committed to equity, healing, and liberatory learning. Grounded in pedagogies of care, this biweekly book club centers the emotional, cultural, and intellectual well-being of participants as they engage with Eve L. Ewing’s powerful work, Original Sins: The [Mis]Education of Black and Native Youth and the Construction of American Racism.
The U.P.R.O.A.R. Book Club will be a space of radical care—where listening, vulnerability, and mutual respect are foundational. Participants will engage in culturally responsive practices, explore ancestral knowledge systems, and discuss strategies for reimagining the college as a site of care.
Whether you're an educator seeking to deepen your instructional practices or a staff member/administrator committed to helping our students achieve their educational goals, come learn about this opportunity to reflect, connect, and roar together toward a more just institution.
