Theme: Visibility – Action – Success: How Best to Support Native Students at CRC
This spring convocation will center the college’s history, present, and future in how we have and will continue to support Native students’ success. The program’s theme, Visibility – Action – Success, will showcase presentations by:
- CRC faculty who have been long-standing advocates and community leaders who have helped campus enhance its efforts to support Native students:
- Dr. Jason Newman, History professor and Union President of LRCFT,
- Dr. Crystal Martinez-Alire, Counselor and former chairwoman of the Ione Band of Miwok
- Dr. Shaina Philpot, Director of Native American Student Support and Success Program and enrolled member of the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians
- Dr. Annette L. Reed, enrolled as a member of Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation (Northwestern California) and is the Dean of Students, Native American College at California State University, Sacramento
- Our Native students and alumni who will share their educational journeys with us

Schedule:
- 8:00 to 8:30 am: Morning refreshments
- 8:30 am to 12:00 pm: Convocation
- 12:00 to 1:00 pm: Lunch in the Cafeteria
- 1:00 to 4:00 pm: CAC meetings
