Description
Join the CRC Ethnic Studies cohort for an interactive professional development workshop on cultivating community in community college. Using the practice of talk story, speakers will reflect on their experiences after attending APAHE (Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education), ADES (All African Diaspora Education Summit), COLEGAS (CA Community Colleges Organizacion de Latinx Empowerment, Guidance, Advocacy for Success), and NCORE (National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in Higher Education).
The faculty speakers will share: their experiences and the benefits of creating inclusive spaces, strategies to enhance teaching practices, and approaches for strengthening collegial relationships. Attendees will have the opportunity to draft their own talk stories about finding and building networks of support on our campus.
